Inspiragram

Yes it is April, and yes I do now realise that I haven’t actually published anything yet this year and yes I do think this is shocking and yes I am sorry. Wow, so much yes. I’ve not come back to complain, or to rant or to persuade. I’m not here to review. I’ve returned to share with you something very special which I have discovered- new role models. (How’s that for an anticlimax?) I was anti-Instagram prior to buying my Hudl, and then in a moment of madness (something to which I am prone it would appear) I decided … Continue reading Inspiragram

Review: Hudl

Okay, so I’m not in the habit of reviewing actual, physical objects, but I’m going to give it a bash.  My intentions are to use this blog post to tell you a little bit about the Hudl. WHAT IS A HUDL? The Hudl is Tesco’s attempt at paving it’s way into the gadget market by focussing on the tech of the moment – the tablet.  Not, like, an actual medical tablet, but an electronic one.  Like an iPad, but instead of being made by Apple it was made by Tesco. HUDL…THAT’S AN ACRONYM RIGHT? I’m afraid it’s not.  Having worked … Continue reading Review: Hudl

Mexico City Is Wonderland.

Welcome to the first ever blog post from my sexy new computer!  It’s so shiny and new *strokes* ANYWAY, hi there. DO YOU KNOW WHERE I’VE BEEN? In July I made the wee journey over to big bad Mexico for a fortnight.  Whilst there I was fortunate enough to stay in the centre of Mexico City (capital of Mexico) for nearly a week (split in two by my visit to Our Cabana, but that is unimportant right now), and I thought that I would share some of my observations with you all. Mexico City is beautiful as long as you … Continue reading Mexico City Is Wonderland.

If Straight Were Gay

Okay, so this video is nearly 20 minutes long but I think it’s well worth the time.  Regardless of your thoughts on homosexuality, or in fact any sexuality that is not heterosexuality, I think you need to watch this and think hard about the message behind it. What if a normal family had two Mums and no Dad, or two Dads and no Mum?  What if your family were strongly HETEROphobic? What if a loved up couple naturally conceiving a baby was unnatural? These are questions which you never really ask yourself…because you’ve never had to.  In fact, apparently heterophobic isn’t … Continue reading If Straight Were Gay

Little Miss Unemployable

Guess where I am?  I’m right here, stuck in one of life’s vicious, vicious ruts.  A rut familiar to many adults.  I’m not unemployed, the only reason being that everybody tells me it’s easier to get a new job if you are already employed somewhere.  I sit here before you (I am sitting, you’re going to have to take my word for it) and tell you that everybody is wrong. I finished college in June, and I sit here 2 months later with a university space that I don’t want and in a job that I hate with such a … Continue reading Little Miss Unemployable

Teen Queen 2013?

“I guess it’s natural for parents to cry on their kid’s first day of school, but you know this normally happens when the kid is 5.  I’m 16.” Set your mind back 10 years.  The year is 2003, and one particular young lady is away to steal the teen chick flick movie scene.  Her name was Lindsay Lohan- fresh faced, red haired and vaguely familiar from playing the twins in Parent Trap.  She was the perfect role model for teenage girls everywhere, and as she took leading roles in Freaky Friday, Confessions of A Teenage Drama Queen, Herbie Fully Loaded … Continue reading Teen Queen 2013?

Cheesiness Reunited.

HANDS UP WHO REMEMBERS THE CHEESY POP ERA. I don’t know if anybody saw the UK TV Programme ‘The Big Reunion’, but I never.  Basically, however, ITV got some the groups loved most by the nineties kids back together, and it was so popular that they then took them on tour.  So yes, I’m a die hard nineties kid, and of course I was there in a shot.  This time Lindsay was my victim, check her out – http://thelifeoflgdrysdale.blogspot.co.uk/ , I think you guys might really like her! So after a horrible day at work, missing out on all the fun of … Continue reading Cheesiness Reunited.

My Chip

Today I received an e-mail that said “If I asked you what your biggest motivation is, what would you say?” My motivation is, quite simply, that I need to prove people wrong.  I have a huge, somewhat debilitating chip on my shoulder which means that when somebody tells me I can’t, or won’t, do something I develop an overwhelming passion to do it.  They told me that I wouldn’t make it through last year at college, and one of the best things that I’ve ever done was stick a big FU status on Facebook when I walked out for summer … Continue reading My Chip

The Bizarrity of Discovering Inner Peace

I feel compelled to write this, because I go back to college tomorrow and that means that things are away to get crazy busy and my time that I can devote to my procrastination is away to diminish quite rapidly.  I’m still trying to work out what I haven’t done for tomorrow.  This may be the last time you hear from me in a while, you’ll all be very glad to know! So there I was thinking ‘I’m going to write in my blog tonight, what could I write about?’, and my usually over-inspired self was remarkably uninspired.  I tossed … Continue reading The Bizarrity of Discovering Inner Peace
