One of my favourite nights of the year is finally here – EUROVISION! I’m always pretty disappointed that the UK doesn’t take it as seriously as other countries, and I think in a large part that’s why we have very much become the laughing stock of the competition. While I agree that the UK’s entry is much better this year, I’m afraid that they aren’t my top pick – the song is far too bland and generic.
I think we have all come to realise by now that in order to have some level of Eurovision success you need something quirky – there is nothing that Europe does better than quirky! I think that all five of the songs which I’ve shared below have their own little quirks, which is probably why I love them so much – I love a quirk as much as the next Eurovision fanatic! Of course how the song comes across in the promotional material to how it comes across can be totally different – I think that we are in for a really good night of entertainment this year!
To celebrate the occasion I thought I would share with you the top five countries that I’m rooting for this year – don’t forget to let me know in the comments who you are rooting for!
Israel. I really want Israel to win – after first hearing their entry my Dad came through and told me he thought I would really like it and he wasn’t wrong! I have been checking out some of Netta’s other work and I have to say, she’s pretty darn talented.
Denmark.
Czech Republic.
Norway.
Estonia.
Do you agree with me? Who are you rooting for this year? Let me know in the comments below!
Back up lol what is Eurovision and why did my phone not try to autocorrect it?

It’s a party America wasn’t invited to, haha! It’s a big international singing competition, each country gets forward one act to represent them.

It’s good too! I just watched it – I love her dress. I’m just not sure it has that special Eurovision factor.
