So as promised yesterday, here is part two! These are a selection of photos from my second full day in Rome, up until the time I left the next morning.
The Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing bus proved to be super helpful again and it actually brought me somewhere that I probably wouldn’t have visited otherwise. Which is just as well, because my plans (see, I did a little planning!) completely fell apart.
I had allocated my second day to seeing Vatican City and everything that came with it – however that rapidly fell apart when I got there and learned that THE POPE was there and as a result it was pretty much on lockdown until later in the afternoon. I opted wander around the nearby streets for a little while instead and took millions of photos before heading to the Hard Rock Cafe and back to the bus.
Fun fact – the Hard Rock Cafe near Vatican City is not allowed to sell pin badges.
So after that disappointment, I headed back to the Trevi Fountain for ice cream then found a Hard Rock Cafe which did sell badges before finding a lovely Basilica (churchy place) to explore. My evening was spent enjoying pizza and avoiding a grumpy roommate…and then the adventure was over and it was time to head home!

So who has made it into Vatican City? What was it like? Is it worth returning for? Let me know in the comments below!
