An exciting new attraction opened up in Aberdeen this weekend much to the excitement of many in the North-east…boutique bowling. What exactly is boutique bowling? It would seem nobody really knows, but Lane7 have made it a thing and I … Continue reading Lane7: Bowling Heaven?
I spent my weekend at Enterprise North East Scotland’s Enterprise Challenge 2014. The Enterprise Challenge is an annual even for people from Grampian and Tayside who are aged 18-30 and either run their own business, are starting up their own business or are interested in starting up their own business in the future, and poses participants with a series of physical and mental challenges to replicate the emotional rollercoaster of self employment. I’m not going to tell you what shenanigans we got up to, just in case you fancy having a go yourself, instead I am going to share with … Continue reading Things I Learnt This Weekend.
I was at the cinema on Thursdsay, an event so rare in itself that it deserves a mention. What was the last thing that you saw in the cinema? There’s a high chance that it was something fairly recent, and I have to admit that recently I’ve done not too bad for cinema trips with this being my 3rd one this year (Monsters Inc 3D and Les Mis being the first two, both brilliant). They don’t want anything to do with me. Maybe they’re dead but I don’t worry about it anymore. Why bother?” *** Regardless of the fact that I was at the bus station in time for the 4:30 bus today, something held me back. Today I decided to get the later bus, minimise the amount of time I’d sit next to a stranger in traffic. This decision lead to 3 … Continue reading When Life Hands You A Drunk Make Conversationade.
At the weekend I found myself in Dundee for the annual Polaris day event (it’s a Guide thing, where Scottish members aged between 16 & 25 get together to voice their opinions on various things), and I’d like to start by saying it was a really good day. We made balloons look like pirates, wandered around the Discovery (a big boat) and went on a treasure hunt (have you guessed the theme yet?). As well as all that, we had some really interesting discussions about Guidey things that I’m not going to bore the non-Guidey people amongst you with…except the … Continue reading I Would Walk 500 Miles…But You Wouldn’t.
